This project is based on the basic tenets of demonstrative geometry. Citing this feature, GeoLamp brings mathematically balanced balance and aesthetics of the author’s design to the space. In general terms, it is just a hemisphere that is attached to the ceiling and serves to illuminate the room..
Now for the details. A tape composed of plywood triangles forms the GeoLamp’s multi-faceted dome. Its geometrical pattern can be compared to a regular apple peel cut in a continuous spiral strip.
There are no delights in the image of the lamp, but the combination of unique patterns on the surfaces of plywood triangles and the magic of their interaction with each other endow it with attractive beauty and expressiveness.
When on, GeoLamp casts intriguing shadows on nearby surfaces and forms a patch of soft, diffused light.
The projects of two young architects Giacomo Mezzadri and Joana Oliveira, who founded the Mezzo Atelier studio, have already proved their worth by participating in several international exhibitions. Although the last word, as always, belongs to the buyers.
