Converted former industrial premises into residential apartments in the distant past ceased to be a novelty even in our country, and even America and Europe in the distant past learned to get the most out of the warehouse or workshops of factories of the last century. By acquiring even a small space in the property, but with high ceilings so that you could equip the second level, you can easily double the number of living quarters and rooms. But under such conditions, it would be logical to complete the decoration of the premises and equip the premises in the loft style, which does not hide the constructive highlights of the former factory premises, but flaunts communications, elements of floors, supports and other structures.

We invite you to take a tour of such a dwelling itself – a municipal private house re-equipped from a part of an industrial building, by completing the upper level of residential premises into a loft-style townhouse.
In most cases, the first level in a loft apartment is a studio, in which territories of different life segments have very conditional boundaries, partitions and walls are used only to limit utilitarian premises, for example, a pantry or a bathroom. And in this municipal apartment, getting inside the premises, we find ourselves at one moment in an entrance hall, a living room, combined with a dining room and a kitchen. There is enough space in the hallway, based on this, the owners decided to equip the playing area here and installed a billiard table.
Another option for entering the premises is through large gate-doors, near which there is a woodpile for firewood going to kindle the stove, the construction of which is similar to the once popular «Potbelly stoves».
After taking a few steps from the hallway, we find ourselves in the living room area, equipped with everything you need for rest and relaxation after a hard day or gatherings with friends and family. Comfortable upholstered furniture with leather upholstery, a unique sliding coffee table, TV-book racks and a zone – all work to create a comfortable, homely environment.
Moving a little through the spacious room, we find ourselves in the dining area with bright chairs and a spacious table. According to the rules of the loft style, the whole room is decorated in bright colors, against the background of snow-white walls and ceilings, the structures of iron floors, other communications and engineering systems are especially clearly visible.
The dining room more than makes up for the brightness gap in a snow-white room – plastic chairs in different shades look great in a set with a table made of bright wood, and a mirrored pendant lamp above them adds a touch of sparkle and glamor to the atmosphere of the dining room.
The very space of the dining room slowly passes into the kitchen area, separated by a bar counter. Such a convenient arrangement of the proximity of the working area of the dining room and the kitchen with the advent of strong hoods has become not only acceptable, but also comfortable.
Not paying attention to the modest square of the kitchen compartment, everything you need for a comfortable location in the cooking area is very ergonomically fit – modern household appliances, a sink, storage structures and other gadgets and kitchen accessories. An entertaining design move was the replacement of the upper tier of kitchen cabinets with niches, where it is convenient to store food and dishes.
The premises, virtually unlimited by doors and walls, create a sense of freedom of movement, lightness and spaciousness, which are so often not enough for municipal dwellings. Due to the fact that there are windows in the room not only in the walls, but also on the ceiling, the huge studio room is practically flooded with sunlight, which at any time has a beneficial effect on the emotional and psychotherapeutic state of the owners.
At the topmost level are the living rooms, but to get into them, you need to climb the stairs and go through the small recreation area located in the space in front of the stairs.
The first private area is the master bedroom. Like all premises of loft apartments, its furnishings include only the most necessary, any piece of furniture or decor is endowed with functionality. A unique design answer for a small room was the equipment of an open-look hanging dressing room.
In loft-style design projects, you can rarely see a fully fenced bedroom, but in this case we have an almost isolated room for sleeping and relaxing.
The bathroom adjacent to the bedroom is also executed in strict and laconic motifs of loft style, bright, practically white as snow finish, diluted with the shine of stainless steel.
And the last room on the way is the nursery. The decoration of the room, white as snow, is seen here with catchy accent spots of decor and furniture. Due to the unique placement of windows on the ceiling, the openings had to be fitted with stretch curtains because there was a lot of sunlight..
In a modern townhouse, there are quite a lot of decor and interesting pieces of furniture of a unique design, which not only regularly implement the functionality assigned to them, but can also freely act as art objects.
