With our long off-season grayness outside the window and on the streets of the city is enough for everyone. The main thing is that there are more bright colors in life. You can also add them to the interior yourself. So, within the framework of color therapy. And even put a real beautiful rainbow in your house. And to do everything at the highest level and to teach the pleasure of the process, this not a complicated device will help.

Nyan Cat - the mastermind

Nyan Cat – the mastermind

The author of this bright hand-made project is a programmer named Antzy Carmasaic. One day, the guy once again came across a picture on the Internet with the popular meme Nyan Cat – a pixel cat that runs through space, leaving an endless rainbow trail behind. It sounds childish, but this cute little thing inspired Antzy to an interesting experiment: to learn yourself «paint with a rainbow» on any surface. And even paint the walls with many colors at the same time. A little systematic approach, and the project was ready. All you need to do is make a suitable paint roller.

Instruments:
• Acrylic sheet at least 3mm thick;
• A piece of foam rubber or non-absorbent sponge;
• Kitchen sponge;
• Roller for painting walls (in the original project the size of the roller is 160mm x 35mm);
• A hook from a clothes hanger;
• Acrylic paints. The author recommends using 10 colors for a smooth rainbow gradient effect;
• Super glue;
• File

Step 1: cut the acrylic for future palette

The author was guided by the drawing shown in the photo. Below are the original measurements. But you can make your own version.
• 17cm x 4.5cm – x2
• 2cm x 4.5cm -x11
• 11cm x 4.5cm -x1
• 7cm x 2.5cm-x1

Step 2: glue the palette

Each paint will have its own compartment.

Step 3: kitchen sponge

Cut a 16cm x 3cm rectangle out of it (if you follow the original measurements) and make cuts every 1.6 cm.Using the cuts, the sponge should «put on» on the partitions of an acrylic palette and fix with superglue.

Step 4: foam or hard sponge

Cut a piece 17 cm long and 3 cm wide. Make 9 cuts 1 cm apart. Place the sponge on the palette and press lightly to cover each compartment. No need to glue. Foam rubber will not let the paint flow out immediately.

Step 5: file the roller

To right angles so you can attach a rectangular palette.

Step 7: additional mount

To securely fix the palette, straighten the metal piece (a hook from a clothes hanger will do) to a right angle. Connect with the free hole of the roller and the wall of the palette, as in the photo. Glue.

Step 8: prepare the paints

Pour a little of each into a separate container and dilute with water. The author recommends a proportion of 2 portions of water: 1 portion of paint. Pour the diluted shades into the palette. Practice a little (on cats) on a piece of paper or old newspaper until the paint is mixed to the desired consistency.

Step 8: paint with a rainbow!
