Apartment 55 square meters
Renovation is always a costly undertaking. Especially when it comes to interior design from scratch. A lot of money is spent on new wallpaper, floor replacement, putty and wall leveling. When renovating a small apartment in Spain, it was possible not only to save on building materials, but also to visually expand the area and correctly organize the space.
No wallpaper
The walls were not covered with wallpaper
When a married couple with a child bought this apartment, there were practically no funds left for its repair. Despite this, the new settlers wanted to surround themselves with comfort, to make their home extraordinary, light and bright. To carry out their plans, they turned to the design bureau Egue Y Seta, whose architects often come across budget projects..
Only part of the walls in the living room area was exposed
Experts immediately offered to save on finishing. Hidden behind a thin layer of putty was luxurious stonework, which one did not want to hide. Work on its exposure cost several times cheaper than additional leveling of the walls and pasting them with wallpaper. Stone walls have brought into the space a special comfort and warmth, which sometimes can only be felt in a private house.

Interesting effects
Sunny guest room
It was decided to paint other walls. It also turned out to be more profitable than fiddling with wallpaper. We bought several cans of white paint and different colors. And then the experiments began. In the living room area, they created the effect of a blue sky with blond clouds, in the nursery, the rays of a summer dawn seem to play on the walls, and the guest room, thanks to its yellow color scheme, seems to be flooded with sunlight. Combinations of different shades have played to visually raise ceilings and erase the boundaries of space.

On sale!
To delineate the kitchen area, it was decided to use different flooring in the living room and kitchen area. The blue tiles, traditional for these places, were purchased at a sale, the parquet was taken for an action, and it miraculously matched the color of the stone walls. For the lining of the bathroom, we chose a simpler tile. Its color has become an excellent assistant in the visual expansion of the space. What they didn’t save on was plumbing and flooring in the bathroom – a mosaic was laid in the shower area, and the remaining floor was tiled with porcelain stoneware. It took a little for a small room, so this choice did not hit the budget..
It was possible to zon the space with the help of different floor coverings

Budget and stylish furniture
The kitchen, furniture, textiles, decor and accessories were purchased at IKEA, where for relatively little money they received stylish furniture for the entire interior. Of course, this is not the only option to save money on furniture. You can walk through the flea markets, sometimes there you can find something interesting and inexpensive.

Our realities
In Russian realities, it is easy to embody all the techniques that we have considered in this interior:
• Don’t be afraid to paint walls. Today acrylic paints are used for this, which are practically odorless, dry quickly and do not smudge if touched. If desired, the painted wall can always be covered with wallpaper.
• Sales of tiles, wallpapers, textiles, decor and parquet are frequent at the turn of the seasons, when brands release fresh collections, and stores are in a hurry to get rid of old ones.
• The situation is the same with furniture. In addition to sales, it will be inexpensive to make custom-made furniture or remake an old one..
• Instead of masonry, brick walls in good condition are quite often found in Khrushchev and Stalinka buildings. It is worth cleaning them correctly and you can save on wallpaper..
