In a vintage bathroom on a white laconic background, objects of the Victorian era, Soviet times, French art deco and postmodern lamp are adjacent to each other, and this neighborhood looks very harmonious.
The retro bathroom is part of a huge apartment located on two levels in an early twentieth century building. The house itself is located in the center of the historic part of Moscow, and the bathroom design had to correspond to the surroundings of the house and the era of its construction.
The idea of a vintage bathroom interior came about as a result of the need to showcase beautiful collectibles from different times, even different eras, belonging to different styles, and at the same time linking them together to create a harmonious space. Therefore, the walls and floor of the bathroom were covered with monotonous white tiles – this is an ideal background that can combine dissimilar interior details..
The centerpiece of the retro-style bathroom is the actual bath bowl itself, mounted on “legs”. It, like the classic English toilet, was delivered directly from England. We drew drips on the bathtub, created an interesting texture. Bathroom legs “aged”, covered with patina. The result is a product “semi-antique”, reminiscent of the Victorian era.
The mirrors over the sinks are real “pearl” in the collection of vintage bathroom items. They were made in France in 1930, and purchased in Paris, in a famous art gallery. In order not to distract attention from them, the shells have the most common shape..
As a result of the designers’ efforts, the retro-style bathroom turned out to be extremely successful. Each thing looks stylish, and at the same time does not argue with the neighboring one, different eras and styles coexist peacefully with each other, but white tiles combine everything into a single harmonious space.
