In a small Indonesian town, there is a very original library, consisting of 8 shipping containers. Each of them is painted in a different color and has its own special purpose. The library can be visited completely free of charge by the poorest segments of the population.

The entire structure consists of 8 blocks raised on steel piles, which also served as a symbol of the exalted role of knowledge gained from reading books. Each of the colored containers has a different purpose. The red room contains a reading room and a science and technology archive. The blue container is for non-fiction literature. And in the yellow one there is a reading room for girls. The green container represents the entrance area and hallway.

Batu is an agricultural city, so the border between the poor and the rich is too wide there. That is why the built library became almost the only opportunity when the poor could get free access to knowledge..
