Christmas balls
To decorate the New Year tree in a stylish and original way, it is not at all necessary to buy expensive New Year’s toys. To create an exclusive design, it is enough to buy the cheapest plastic Christmas balls. An important point – there should be no drawing on the balls! They can be of different colors, but certainly solid and matte. From beautiful pieces of fabric, an old scarf, a napkin … and other pretty textile fabric, we cut out the same or similar motifs and glue them onto Christmas balls. Nobody else will have such balls! Even the Queen of England! They are one of a kind! And your tree will be unique too!
New Year paper snowflakes
What a New Year and Christmas without perky snowflakes!
A simple openwork element can be a wonderful New Year’s decoration for your home. So it’s time to arm yourself with scissors and remember the technique of cutting out snowflakes: fold and cut a square sheet of paper, as indicated in the figure, and then cut out the patterns shown on the stencil or any arbitrary ornaments.
There is a more interesting way «materialization» snowflakes made of paper. Amazing snowflakes of indescribable beauty that will delight you more than one New Year can be made using the quilling technique. This is the art of paper filigree (paper rolling), when outlandish flowers and ornaments are twisted from thin strips of paper. To make a quilling snowflake, we need: white paper for quilling (a snowflake made of plain paper will be too fragile, the density of the paper should be like a landscape sheet) scissors, a ruler, toothpicks, a paper cutter, PVA glue.
Snowflake in quilling technique
Cut off the sharp tips of the toothpick with scissors (photo 3). On one side of the toothpick, with a paper cutter, make a small incision in the middle, about 1 cm deep (photo 4). This will be our main tool!
Now we make paper blanks. A standard strip for quilling should be 3 mm wide and 27 mm long. As for the length, you can not bother too much – let it be equal to the length of the sheet, but it is better to observe the width. We carefully cut the paper into strips of a given length and width (photo 5-7).
We create a spiral – the basic element of paper rolling: take the first strip, carefully insert its edge into the forked tip of a toothpick and twist it into a tight spiral. Important! We twist not paper, but a toothpick! Take your time! The spiral should be smooth and neat! Carefully remove the spiral from the toothpick, put it on the table and let it unwind a little (photo 8-11).
On the edge of the strip twisted into a spiral, we drop a drop of PVA glue, press the tip and admire our baby! (photo 12-13) You need to make as many such spirals as there are constituent elements in your snowflake. In our case, there are 57!
As you can see in the picture, not all spirals in our snowflake are round. If you look closely, you can see the delicate «droplets» and «eyes». To get a drop, press the spiral on one side a little with your thumb and forefinger (photo 14-15). If the spiral is pressed not from one, but simultaneously from both sides, it will not work «a drop», and «little eye» (photo 16-17).
When all the elements of the future snowflake are ready, we fold them into a pattern and glue them together with drops of glue. We admire our man-made masterpiece and hang it on a string in a conspicuous place. Beauty! It pleases the eye and creates a festive mood!

Decorating the house for Christmas
Christmas bouquets
Why limit your Christmas tree decor? Especially if it’s artificial. But what about the unique coniferous aroma of the New Year and Christmas? New Year’s bouquets of spruce, pine and mountain ash twigs, cones, balls and festive tinsel will help to revive the space of the house, to breathe into it the joy of the anticipation of magic and miracles.
A beautiful bottle, basket, felt boots, boots can serve as a basis for an original bouquet … To make a bouquet of live pine or spruce branches stand as long as possible and not crumble, use a floral sponge. The New Year’s composition will perfectly complement red apples, tangerines, nuts, honey and gingerbread, star anise stars and cinnamon sticks.
Stylish Christmas compositions from dry branches
New Year’s compositions from dry branches look very impressive! They can seriously compete even with the queen of the celebration – the tree! The twigs can be left in their original form, or they can be covered with bronze or silver paint for greater elegance.
Candles and Christmas
The perky flickering of festive garlands and warm candle lights, driving away darkness and gloom, with all the dangers and fears lurking in them, will help to create a magical fairy tale on long winter evenings. The warm living flame of a candle pleases the eye, bewitches, gives peace, and creates a magical comfort. Fancy-shaped festive candles, golden and silver Christmas candles and very tiny candles will look great both in New Year’s ekibans and solo, for example, as a solemn highlight of the New Year’s table or to decorate a mantelpiece.
If you want to be transported into a fairy tale and feel like a real princess in a magic castle, use long thin candles in colorful wrought-iron candlesticks and stylish vintage candelabra in your festive decor. Wide low candles can be placed in deep glass candlesticks – mysterious reflections of fire on the glass will give the house a special charm. Well, if you fill a glass bowl, vase, candy bowl, punch vessel or ordinary glasses with water, scattering sea pebbles at the bottom, and release it into «free swimming» pill candles, we will get a magic highlight for a romantic New Year. For a more interesting and unexpected effect, you can experiment with the color of the water..
Beautiful and tasty ideas for the New Year
Tired of traditional Christmas tree toys? Make a candy from the tree! An appetizing gourmet Christmas tree in a sweet decoration will especially delight the kids with the opportunity to pull something tasty from a branch on occasion.
Biscuits, honey and gingerbread cookies, nuts, small tangerines and apples, and, of course, sweets in beautiful candy wrappers and golden wrappers are perfect. Powdered sugar and white icing will help to give them a New Year’s gloss and glamor. Spruce branches can also be lightly sprinkled with powder, so that even the snow on our tree is sweet!
DIY Christmas toy – orange with cinnamon
To create this beauty, we need cinnamon sticks, oranges, a beautiful elegant ribbon for a bow, and a cute string or string for hanging. Cut the oranges into slices and send them to the oven to dry thoroughly. Tie a cinnamon stick with a golden rope, tie it to an orange, and make a loop on top. As a final touch, we tie a bow to the loop..
