Almost everyone can decorate the interior, make it unusual. It is not necessary to go to the store for home decorations, ordinary accessories either look cheap or depressing in their triviality. Unusual and interesting art objects are most often of the author’s production and their cost is not always justified. You can create something unusual, beautiful, fashionable with your own hands. A good option for implementation is a panel of plants. Making a composition from dry plants for wall decoration is quite simple, see for yourself.
We will need:
- acrylic paint (choose the color based on the desired effect),
- reliable, quick-drying glue (hot glue gun or super glue is best),
- water-based varnish (the most convenient lag in a can, you can use hairspray),
- glue brush, wide paint brush,
- sheets of thick paper of the same size for the background blank (the quantity is determined by the desired number of compositions),
- blanks from dried flowers and herbs (you can prepare yourself in the summer, you can purchase in one of the handmade departments),
- frame with background canvas.
For the base, the most suitable watercolor paper. Paint perfectly fits on this paper, the sheet remains even and smooth. The dry plant composition should be placed on pre-primed small sheets. So, we put the primer on the sheets, do not forget to spread the newspaper or film on the desktop. Apply a thick layer of acrylic paint with a wide brush. Apply the paint in monotonous movements from top to bottom. We prime all sheets.
After the paint on all small sheets is completely dry, apply glue to the back of the sheet and alternately glue it onto the main canvas. The main canvas, if you wish, you can also paint in any suitable color.

Next, the most interesting thing is the creation of a composition from dry plants. First, you select combinations of stems, try on, cut and lay out until you get the optimal picture, in your opinion. When all the stems are laid out, carefully, one at a time, begin to stick them on the base. The glue dries very quickly, and rearranging the already pasted part will leave a mark on the paint, so it is better to act for sure.
After the panel of plants is completed and all the blades of grass are in place, apply varnish to dry plants, the varnish will protect the composition from dust and scratches..
You just have to combine all the small sheets on a common basis, insert the composition into the frame and decorate one of the walls of the house with an authentic decoration.
