How to reuse an old sheet to the advantage? We offer a very interesting solution that your children will surely like – we create a tent from old sheets with our own hands. It is worth making a reservation that we are not talking about sheets that have holes, but only about those that still have a decent appearance, but are not needed for their intended purpose due to any reason.
This tent is easy to disassemble and store as there are no screws or nails in the structure. This is a great secluded place for children to read and play, where they can feel protected and quite comfortable..
Make a tent with a sheet
You will need
- Four 120 cm wood moldings
- One 120 cm wooden dowel with round edges (20 mm in diameter)
- Drill with 20 mm thread
- Yardstick
- Pencil
- Fabric (1-2 sheets) (approx 115 x 215 cm)
- Rope
- Rubber
- Scissors
Instructions:
1. On each molding, measure 15 cm from the end and mark with a pencil or marker.
2. Use a drill to drill a 20mm hole, try to make it exactly in the center of the plank. As a result, you should have 4 wooden planks with holes on the same level. To do this, you need to place the moldings on top of each other and center the hole..
3. Insert the dowel into the holes of the two moldings at each end of the dowel. The hole must be tight enough to fit the dowel very tightly.
4. Sew the edges of the sheet (where necessary). Desired fabric size after that 110×210 cm
5. Cut four 10 cm elastic bands
6. Make a buttonhole and stitch / sew on the buttonhole at the corners of the fabric.
7. Fasten the hinges at the bases «legs» tents. If necessary, additionally fix them with glue.
