Tired of collecting pens, pencils, brushes that are so fond of scattering around the house? Try to make a pencil holder with your own hands, it’s not so difficult. Such a thing will not only help organize the work area, but will also allow you to teach children to maintain order..
To make a pencil holder, prepare the following materials:
- a cardboard cylinder (you can take a roll of toilet paper or a solid roll of wallpaper as a basis);
- jute twine;
- cardboard;
- colored paper;
- a piece of thick fabric (you can use velor or velvet to make the pencil holder more stable);
- piece of tape;
- decorative button;
- Super glue;
- hammer and nails (if the roll is made of high density cardboard);
- PVA glue.
To make a DIY pencil holder, start with a stand. From cardboard (or high-density paper), cut a circle around the diameter of your cylinder, attach it to the cylinder with super glue to make the bottom of the pencil holder. If the board is very thick, do it with a hammer and small nails.
From colored paper, cut 2 circles with a diameter equal to the cardboard circle. Paste them over the bottom outside and inside the cylinder..
Next, we paste over the walls of the cylinder from the inside with colored paper.
To make the pencil holder neatly, apply a little PVA glue along the outer edge of the bottom, and put jute twine on top. When it grabs a little, we begin to glue the cylinder with jute cord, winding it coil by coil.
The process of making a pencil holder with your own hands is almost complete. It remains to stick a velvet or velor cloth circle on the bottom, and decorate with a ribbon to which a bow is attached.
The final touch – sew the button with bright thread in the center of the bow.
