Luxurious eclectic bachelor bedroom renovated
The San Francisco designer’s challenge was to combine functionality with fluidity and high style. He wanted to create a simple modern bachelor bedroom with a warm atmosphere and personality. This he achieved thanks to the various textures and their play with different patterns. The only requirement of a young man aged 20+ was the ability to work with a laptop anywhere in the room.
Bedroom before renovation
The original wallpaper in the form of a bookcase filled with books helped create a sense of antiquity and became a wonderful backdrop for a huge double bed with a high leather headboard. Olive painted walls with rims, a gallery above the TV, a door to a dressing room described in chalk, eclectic furniture, tacos with Indian patterns – all create a unique atmosphere and a non-standard look. Size: approximately 14 m2.
Renovated bedroom with original accent wall
The bedroom used to have a blue accent wall flanked by white walls. The furniture was minimalist, the bed on a platform, a work desk that blocked off the sunlight. Now wallpaper in the form of a library has become a wonderful backdrop for the new huge bed. The view turned out to be interesting and effective.
Wallpaper in warm colors fills the room with coziness. The tall cognac-colored leather headboard is an original decor in itself, but it is also complemented by four shelves made of natural wood and metal. You can place your favorite books and collections on them.
One of the most modern elements in the interior is the chandelier, which takes a distraction from the vintage atmosphere of the bedroom. The carpet under the bed limits the space and fills it with texture and patterns. Convenient side table can be used to work with a laptop, or you can put a cup of coffee and a snack on it while watching TV.
Gallery from photos above the TV
A gallery has been created above the flat-screen TV on the wall, combining architectural prints and personal photographs, framed in brass. A gallery on the wall is a great opportunity to create a spectacular decor for little money. Use multiple subjects and include your photos to achieve harmony.
Decor elements in an eclectic style
Olive velvet curtains create a smooth transition between walls and windows. An armchair by Eames, one of the most expensive items in the room, the original metal side table replaces the desk and chair that were previously there..
Aztec pattern and print cushions «paws» added texture and paint to neutral gray bedding. The variety and layering creates a sense of depth.
Decor elements in an eclectic style
Various shapes and designs of metal book holders contrast with the graphic background created by the library wallpaper.
The painted bedside tables with black trim on either side of the bed have a traditional shape with chiseled legs. For storing all sorts of little things, a drawer and an open shelf with a basket are provided, where you can hide the control panel or other important, but small things.
The table lamp is made in an industrial style, but it fits wonderfully into the interior of an eclectic bedroom.
Door leading to dressing room before and after renovation
The wall with a sliding door leading to the dressing room used to be completely white. The door now has a drawing imitating hand-painted chalk. Panels and moldings are enough – expensive, so the designer has found an inexpensive way to decorate a room. The bedroom now has a more welcoming look with a vibrant personality and character.
Another bachelor den, owned by American photographer Jesse Leake, looks no less original and stylish..
