A modern flat-roofed house organically dissolves into the surrounding fields near a small Spanish town. The architects did not want to disturb the natural landscape in any way, so as not to spoil the picturesque landscape, and this house is the best fit for their plans.
A simple shape – a parallelepiped, huge window-walls that make the house almost transparent, terraces on both sides for unity with nature – all this makes a small building both comfortable for living and not destroying the harmony of perception of the area.
Spain has a lot of sunny days, and the transparent walls allow you to fully enjoy this. The basement of the house is neatly inscribed in the terrain, the facade is made of a wide board, which has been treated with wood stain. The flat roof does not attract attention, the house might not be noticed at all if it were not for the door and the pipe – they are painted yellow wildflowers and lichens.
The interior of a modern flat roof house combines features of two styles: minimalism and eco-design. Everything inside is sheathed with wood, not only the walls and floor, but also the ceiling. Natural wood gives an extraordinary warmth and comfort to every room, softening the cold shine of glass surfaces. Decor elements are practically absent, but there is no need for them – nature itself acts as an interior artist, looking into the house through glass window-walls.
House area – only 60 sq. m. In the center of the layout there is a kitchen-living room, a place where the whole family gathers. On both sides of it there are bedrooms, and in the basement there is an area for guests, a bathroom is also provided for them.
A modern flat roof house is very harmonious: the magnificent panoramic views, having become part of the interior, made it possible to abandon the bright textiles, art posters or other decorative accessories that usually delight the eyes of the owners. Instead, you can admire the vast expanses that constantly change their appearance, following the change of seasons..
The storage systems are built in such a way as not to be conspicuous. The furniture is upholstered in soothing natural shades. The main lighting is also natural – daylight penetrates unhindered through the huge panoramic windows.
In the evenings, lamps of simple shapes, equipped with frosted glass shades, cope with the lighting function. Their gentle light resembles the moon, and does not interfere with admiring the starry sky.
