The play of flame is always mesmerizing, relaxation and comfort are often associated with the soft light of the flame. Making an outdoor fireplace with your own hands is not at all difficult, with the help of the manufacturing instructions, everyone will have the opportunity to have their own fireplace, which can be placed on the street or in a gazebo.
In order to make a fireplace with our own hands, we need the following materials:
- silicone glue;
- metal grid;
- metal pots, rectangular;
- frames with glass in a size suitable for the perimeter of the planter, the resulting glass cube must be tightly docked with the base (the aquarium will not fit, the box should not have either a top or a bottom);
- large pebbles;
- tin can (a can of canned food is suitable);
- liquid fuel for fireplaces.
Step 1.
We glue the glass walls with silicone glue, so that we get a box without a bottom and top. We act as shown in the photo, coat the joint and apply another glass wall at ninety degrees, press, hold for how many seconds, until solidification.
We continue to glue wall by wall until we get a cube.
Next, we leave the structure until completely dry, it is best if there is additional support for the structure. After complete drying, we continue to make a fireplace with our own hands and proceed to the second step.
Step 2.
Apply glue to two edges of opposite glasses, with a thin strip. We apply this side to the iron base and let it dry. After drying, the excess silicone can be carefully cut off with a knife.
For added strength, glue the cleaned seams with an extra layer of glue. Allow time to dry again. The main structure of an outdoor fireplace with your own hands is ready, we proceed to the internal filling.
Step3.
To create a hearth and make a full-fledged fireplace with your own hands, take a prepared metal grate, this can be a grill grate. Cut its edges to fit the bottom of the structure.
Place a can of liquid for fireplaces at the bottom (do not pour a lot of liquid right away). Install the grill on top. As a result, the bottom should be covered with a grate..
Step4.
We artistically lay out pebbles on the mesh bottom. It should be located evenly along the bottom, visually close the grate, while leaving openings for oxygen access.
A do-it-yourself outdoor fireplace is ready, it remains to set it on fire and enjoy the flame. To set it on fire, clear a little space above the vessel and bring up the fire on a long stick, matches for a fireplace are good.
To use the fireplace indoors, you must use a different type of fuel. The approximate operating time of the device is 3 hours for the fire to stop burning, it is enough to block the access of oxygen to the flame, an iron cover will do. The base of the fireplace becomes very hot during operation, be careful, install on a non-combustible base.
