A beautiful, bright, comfortable and tasty-looking donut pillow can be made independently, or together with children – the process is like an exciting game, and the result will delight both children and adults.
Materials
- Fleece fabric or felt – 1 meter beige, 0.5 meter pink (lilac, blue, yellow – at your choice)
- Small pieces of fabric of the same type in bright colors: orange, red, brown, white.
- To sew a felt donut, a sewing machine is required, as well as threads of the same color as the main material.
- You will need pins for chipping parts, scissors, a pencil.
- To cut the fabric, you need a template according to which we will cut the circles. You can take a bucket, bowl, saucepan, bowl.
- It is better to use synthetic materials designed specifically for this purpose as filler for a donut pillow..
Stages of work
Take 1 meter of felt, fold right side in, and using a pencil, mark two circles – a large and a small one inside the large one. On the outside of the large circle and on the inside of the small circle, add half a centimeter (seam allowance), and then cut out the details.
The felt donut will “glazed”, therefore, cut out a circle from the pink cut – the same diameter as the beige one. Then sketch out an uneven line “glaze”, step back slightly from the outer edge of the large circle, and trim it along this line.
Multicolored “sprinkling” we make from small colored pieces of fabric. Cut out small stripes, or squares, or circles, and attach to the layer “glaze” with pins. You can also sweep “sprinkling”. Layer “glaze” attach with pins or basting with “faces” one of the beige felt circles.
Now we collect a donut pillow: on a typewriter we attach all the details to each other – powder on “glaze”, then “glaze” – on one side of the future pillow (from the front side!).
We take out the basting threads, remove the pins, and fold the two beige circles, face up. We carefully sew on a typewriter with a zigzag seam (or manually with an overcast seam). Leave 10 cm of the seam unstitched.
Through this non-stitched section of the seam, fill the felt donut pillow with filler, after which we sew the seam to the end. Our pillow is ready!
