For her family, designer Natalia Maslova, has developed a wonderful interior of a country house in the chalet style. The area of the entire room is more than three hundred meters, the first floor is one hundred eighty three, a vast attic is located at one hundred twenty four meters.
The first floors of chalet-style country houses are usually trimmed with stone, which protects the walls from decay, in this case only wood was used, covered with a special composition. The composition of the coating protects the walls from external visible changes in color and fungus, the external decoration of the house is also made of timber, but with a darker coating like a dark walnut.
The interior of a chalet house would not be complete without wooden windows with shutters, balconies, extended roof slopes, allowing you to relax outdoors until dark, even in rainy weather.
In the country house of the chalet, there was a place not only for the kitchen, living room and dining room. Five more bedrooms, dressing room, laundry room and three bathrooms are located under one roof.
Mandatory, in such an interior, the fireplace is located in the corner, at the junction of the living room and dining room, which allows you to admire the fire from both sides.
For building “correct” the interior of a country house chalet, mainly natural materials were used. The walls are lined with specially treated timber.
For the interior of the chalet house, natural shades and materials were selected:
- a wide range of brown shades of wood, from dark to very light, sand, gray – stone, ocher, terracotta;
- wood, stone, furs, leather, natural fabrics – linen and cotton;
- iron – forging, steel.
Chalet-style country houses in their original design are usually small and very compact. In the author’s project, the task was to achieve maximum space and illumination. The solution to these problems was achieved due to the free layout of the first floor and the light color of the walls. Skylights have been added to add light to the stairs and the second floor hall, as well as to the nursery, bedroom and shower room..
We should also pay special attention to the accessories used in the interior of the chalet house. Some of the furniture was designed specifically for the home, an oak table with antique cast-iron plates, made according to sketches. Next to the fireplace are two very comfortable chairs from the seventies, lovingly restored by the author.
The chandelier over the table was chosen from the Italian manufacturer Fabbian.
For chalet-style country houses, a hunting motive is mandatory, usually expressed in the form of trophy animal heads. In the presented interior, the role of trophies is performed by ceramic deer heads from Asiatides.
