Art workshop in the nursery: blackboard, easel and marker coating

It is a well-known fact that drawing helps in the development and learning of any child, but little artists are often so carried away that they use wallpaper, walls, tables and chairs instead of canvas. In order for the kid to continue to learn to draw, but at the same time does not spoil the interior of the apartment, you can use such solutions.

 Marker coating

Thanks to special paint, you can turn part of the wall (or the entire wall) into a springboard for children’s imagination. The stores offer a wide palette of colors for painting, so this coating can be made not only in the classic white version, but also to choose the right shade for rooms with any color scheme. The marker coating is analogous to a whiteboard, the child can draw with colored markers and easily erase his notes with a dry or damp cloth.

The main advantages of this choice are:

Manufacturers guarantee complete safety in use
Dust does not collect as from a blackboard with chalk
The use of marker paint is not limited to walls. It can be applied to any smooth surfaces – tables, cabinets, doors, floors.

Advice: If you decide to apply a marker coating to a part of a wall or door, make sure that there are no quickly dirty or expensive things near the future surface for drawing. It is worth removing the carpet away (after all, it is much more difficult to remove dirt from it than just wiping the floor with a rag), remove the curtains (and it is better to even apply the coating away from windows with curtains) and stock up on a special stain remover, because little artists keen on drawing do not pay attention to such «little things», like white linens or a clean floor runner.

Easel

An easel in a nursery is a great solution for little artists. There are many varieties of such easels for children, from plastic to wooden. In any case, when buying, it is worth paying for the age indicated on the box. This is how you can choose an easel that fits the child’s height and will have all the necessary «functional», required by the kid. The drawing board does not take up much space, it folds easily and can be hidden, for example, behind a cabinet.

Children’s easels are equipped with spacious shelves and stands for easy storage of pencils, markers and paints. Double-sided and three-sided easels are popular, each side of which has its own type of coating – slate paint, marker coating, paper for painting with paints. Such a multifunctional easel will definitely please the kid, because you can draw on it with markers, paints and crayons.

Advice: No matter how tidy your child is, paint will splatter, chalk will crumble, and a marker or open marker will fall to the floor. To keep the floor safe from possible contamination, place a mat under the easel. The bedding can be an old sheet, the remnants of wallpaper or linoleum, or just a small piece of oilcloth. The larger the litter, the less chance of paint and chalk staining the floor..

Wall slate board

Slate board is very popular today. She will perfectly cope with the task of zoning a children’s room, you just need to hang it in the play area. Thus, the child will be able to draw on it and use it as a draft for solving household problems. The only drawback of this choice is that chalk crumbles when drawing. Therefore, cleaning in the house will increase a little – you will need to monitor the cleanliness of both the board itself and the surrounding space.

Advice: If you don’t find a slate board of the desired shape and size, do not despair, because it is very easy to do it yourself. To do this, it is enough to buy a special graffiti paint. This paint can be used to cover not only a wall board, but also a part of the wall or dresser facades. Moreover, slate paint is not only black, but also multi-colored – experiment! All of the above options concerned the children’s room, although in fact all these solutions can miraculously fit into the design of the kitchen (on «kitchen board» you can write down recipes and make shopping lists, leave notes for family and friends, take notes while talking on the phone); in the office (thanks to the board or marker covering, it will be convenient to hold meetings and presentations, writing down the main theses) or in the bedroom (you can leave romantic notes on the board).
