Architectural project by Design Paradigms.
The architectural company Design Paradigms has completed the construction of an eco-villa Jewel Box Villa located on the shores of Lake Geneva in Lausanne (Switzerland). The customer wished that the windows of the future house on the south and west sides overlook the lake. Experts in their own way fulfilled this task and, taking into account the peculiarities of the terrain, designed a narrow, two-level house.

Taking into account that the owner of the house is an environmental consultant by profession, passionate about the Asian philosophy of harmony between man and nature, the architects covered one of the outer walls of the house and part of the roof with a vertical garden. In addition to the aesthetic function, the green façade has high thermal insulation properties from a practical point of view..
The north side of the building, facing the street, is made in a more restrained style so as not to attract undue attention of passers-by to the house.

Needless to say, the construction of the villa meets all the environmental requirements of Switzerland. To build the house, the architects used locally produced materials. Jewel Box Villa uses both active and passive energy sources with a particular focus on solar and geothermal technologies.

To balance the house’s intense façade, the interior design has been done in soothing colors with minimalist décor. The building area is 299 square meters.
