DIY soft panels for walls

In addition to the usual standard room decoration options, such as wallpaper or painting, there is a rather rare type of decor such as soft wall panels. In fact, the use of such panels is much wider: they can decorate doors, ceilings, furniture.

Almost any interior item can be changed, made bright and eye-catching with the help of such a finish. Soft panels at the head of the bed look especially good.

When making soft wall panels with your own hands, your imagination is not limited by anything. For their decoration, you can use brass wallpaper nails (for example, leather panels look very impressive with “carriage” upholstery with such nails), buttons sewn on top and forming various patterns.

An important plus of soft panels for walls is that they serve as additional sound insulation. It is not difficult to make do-it-yourself soft wall panels.

To do this, you will need (taking into account the size of the panel 500×2400 mm):

  • fabric with a pattern or ornament, or smooth (620×2520 mm);
  • synthetic winterizer;
  • plywood 500x800x4 (3 pcs);
  • wooden block 2400x20x30 (2 pcs);
  • wooden block 440x20x30 (4 pcs);
  • metal corners, screws, small nails;
  • large self-tapping screws with plugs (4 pcs);
  • universal glue;
  • hammer, screwdriver, furniture stapler.

Important! If there is a pattern on the soft panels for the walls, during cutting it is necessary to ensure that the edges of the pattern at the joints coincide in the finished product!
